The Beaver Creek Chophouse: Great For Lunch too!

Classic Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail

Like I mentioned before, I am working at The Beaver Creek Chophouse, in Avon Colorado this winter.   Vail Mountain opened this week, and next week Beaver Creek will open.   Its time for me to get aquainted with the menu I will be serving. The last thing I want is to be the server that messes up the overall flow of buisness.  So, I decided to type out the menu on  a blog, in order to get the information in my head.  This way, I could make any extra comments needed, not on the menu, yet important if I am asked by anyone.  I want to step up my game this winter and improve on my organization.

In Colorado There’s “No Worries”

Well, winter is definitely rolling in here in the Rocky Mountains. Tonight, we are expecting 10 inches of snow in the higher elevations. Opening day for skiing and snowboarding in Vail and Beaver Creek is right around the corner. It is definitely time to start planning your winter vacation in Colorado. Do not miss out on this season in Vail.

Make sure to contact 10th Mountain Limo for all your transportation needs while visiting Colorado this winter. With much snow expected, leave the driving to the professionals, to make sure you and your family arrive to your destination safely. Before becoming a Vail local, I was fortunate enough to visit on my winter vacation one year. I will never forget my first trip to the beautiful Rocky Mountain Region. One thing I defiantly would have done differently is I would have called 10th Mountain Limo. I decided to rent a vehicle at the airport and drive the snowy, treacherous, twisting and turning journey myself. I am originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, and had little experience driving in the snow. The car was not what I would call a snowy weather car, to say the least, and came very ill-equipped for the icy roads I had to conquer. The drive from Denver International to Beaver Creek was a slippery one. During the climbing elevation, the weather became increasingly blustery and frozen , and the rental car slid on patches of ice. It would have been nice to have one of the pleasant gentlemen from 10th Mountain Limo, pick me up curbside and sip on a glass of Colorado wine during the scenic ride to Beaver Creek.

Relieved to have made it to Beaver Creek in one piece, yet still the gloom of the drive back to Denver loomed in the back of my mind. If I had known what I know now, I would have certainly called on 10th Mountain Limo for a ride. Why not leave the driving to people who drive in the snow for a living? The added stress of a frightening drive is just not enjoyable, and easily avoidable. So, kick back and relax, turn on a movie on one of our TV screens, or music on the surround sound, and enjoy every minute of your well-earned vacation. We can’t wait to help you in any way we can this winter, leaving you with “no worries”. See you soon!

Winter Is In The Air In Vail Colorado

The weather is cooling off here in the Colorado Rocky Mountains . Each morning I wake up to the aspen trees turning more and more yellow and red. Just when I think the colors could not be more vibrant, the colors seem to turn even brighter shades the next day.

On October 4th, we decided to turn the heat on finally, as there was a white blanket covering the ground outside, but leaving plenty of room for the aspens colors to “pop” out from under natures garment.

I love it when it begins to cool down and I can see my breath for the first time. You know, it’s not too cold, but the air gives you its first nibble of the season. Winter is on its way.

I love building a fire in the fireplace and the way it makes the house so cozy and warm. The aroma of burning timber fills the room. Even though the heat from the flames provides plenty of warmth, the desire to wrap up in a big soft blanket often gets the best of me. Winter is in the air.

I love Colorado. It gets really cold here but it doesn’t seem so bad with the Vail and Beaver Creek playground that is open all winter. Christmas begins early here, to provide the visitors with a winter wonderland even if they choose to take their Vail retreat before or after the holidays. I think that is part of the magic here. Christmas lasts for four months.

Go ahead and start planning your ski trip. The snow is already providing a solid ground to serve as a nice base for the skiers and snowboarders. Come experience the feeling of winter this year in Vail, Colorado

Have a great evening, and thanks for reading.
